“Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, but much increase comes by the strength of the ox.” Prov. 14:4
I just found this verse this morning, and it pretty much sums up working with animals. They are messy. You have to clean it up. But, it’s worth it. God made animals to do some things better than we (and our fancy machines) can ever do.
(Rabbits for instance can do many things we can’t–like pooping tiny round pellets as if they had Pez dispensers for butts, eating copious amounts of clover, multiplying exponentially, and being delicious in stew). But really I was talking about ruminants and draft animals in particular. . .
